So, thanks to Grammie and Papa, we have our new baby food maker! :) Josh and I made Tessa a batch of peaches yesterday. :)
She was pretty excited to try her first puree. :) Yummy Peaches.

A Praying Life
I am currently reading "A Praying Life" by Paul E. Miller. I'm really learning a lot from it. It challenges the urge to "try and do better", and replaces it instead, with what we are believing (or not believing). Here is an excerpt from what I read this morning.
"If we think we can do life on our own, we will not take prayer seriously. Our failure to pray will always feel like something else-- a lack of discipline or too many obligations. But when something is important to us, we make room for it. Prayer is simply not important to many Christians because Jesus is already an add-on."
...praying that God will help me believe I can't do life without Him...

Puj Tub
One of the items I registered for before Tessa was born, was the Puj tub. When I received it at my baby shower, there were many people who said, "That is so cool! Let me know how it works!" So, here you go...
We love it...and so does Tessa! It's so simple, but it really keeps her stable, cozy and happy! It's super convenient too! When bath time is over, you just unfold it, and hang it behind the bathroom door! Here is a before picture of bath time (sponge bath)

Brother-in-Law
As some of you may already know, my brother-in-law, Jesse, is living with us. He moved in about two weeks ago. I just wanted to share one of the many perks to having him around...
He bakes you brownies.
(...notice the oil pooling at the bottom)
...and! not only does he bake, but he experiments! Can you see the sixlets!? (also, peanut butter and extra margarine...however, no eggs) :)

Nursery Reveal
Baby's room is finally finished...well for the most part! ;) I just love the way everything turned out. It's fun to see it go from an idea, to a reality. Here is a close up of the bedding, that I love!! I found the fabrics online, and had two talented friends make it for me!
...We started with the crib, and picked the wall color from there. I found the spring branch wall decal on etsy.com.
We were blessed with many awesome children's books at my baby showers. Here is the beginning of baby's collection, in some cute display shelves!
The Bessie Pease wall prints are from my childhood. I got the rocker from Pier One on clearance! I also scored the lamp from TJ Maxx!
The dresser is a restored jewel from my mom's garage. My wonderful husband spent many long hours refinishing it. We picked out new hardware, and "wha-la", baby's changing table! :)
Here is the room all put together. There are a few finishing touches I would like to add, but there's plenty of time for that ;)

Cravings
When people ask me if I have any pregnancy cravings, I typically answer "no." Nothing ever seems like an "over the top" craving. I definitely don't have any strange cravings, but one that has really developed has been my love affair with fruit! :) Throughout my whole pregnancy, it has always sounded good. When I've had the opportunity to have fresh fruit within the last few months, I usually go on and on about how good it is. I even picked up frozen fruit over the winter, so that I could have some resemblance of fresh... Last night I "broke" and insisted that we go to the store at 8:00 to get fruit. Josh, with some persuading ;) , decided to accompany me (I'm horrible at picking ripe fruit!). This is what we came back with. We got lucky with the watermelon! It's to die for! The cantaloupe...not as good, but it will do. I'm looking forward to a week with fruit at my fingertips! ...Not a craving to complain about, right???

Vote for the Worst
I kept forgetting to check on who was VFTW's pick this year for American Idol. I just checked, and my prediction was correct. Ugh, I don't know how much longer I can handle him...

Funny Story
So, I have slowly been telling my students that I am expecting. It has been funny to hear their reactions. Today, I told a student in 5th grade (with cognitive delays). Here was our conversation:
Mrs. Fabish: Did you know that I am going to have a baby?
Student: What?! No. You didn't tell us that!
Mrs. Fabish: I know, I'm telling you now. :)
Student: WHO'S THE FATHER?!
Mrs. Fabish: [trying not to laugh] Well, that would be MR. Fabish, my husband.
Student: Oh. Well you should celebrate!

Aleni Elizabeth
I am an Auntie again (and will be saying that again very soon!) Rey, Liz and Noah Sanchez welcomed Aleni Elizabeth into this world on January 10th at 8:50 pm. We are so excited to meet you Aleni.
...Now if your Aunt Hannah has a girl, the boy-girl count will be even. :)
We love you and thank God for you Aleni!
